How We Limit God's Love

Limiting beliefs are those strongholds that we must tear down in order to experience the abundance of God's love

We hear it preached something like this…

• You are commanded to Love God.

• You are commanded to Love Others.

• You are commanded to Love Your Enemies.

• You are commanded to Not be Lovers of Self

I believe Jesus preached it more closely to this…

• God loved you so much He sent His Son

• You can experience the love of a Good, Good Father and the friendship of a Brother

• Experiencing His love will radically transform you into some Thing/One new

• From this developing newness you will begin to produce within You, proper love for You, passionate love for others Others and powerful love for Your enemy.

Where Do Limiting Beliefs Come In?

When someone HAS TO fulfill a “Command” it puts them in a servant/slave mindset instead of Son/Daughter relationship.

This is directly opposed to the Scandalous Good News of The Cross of Christ.

This Limiting Belief Filters (corrupts, erodes, perverts) what I read in Scripture and what I hear God saying.

• It LIMITS how I feel about God and how I relate to Him (or don’t relate to Him)

• It LIMITS how I feel and think about myself, how I love or hate myself

• It LIMITS me from seeing others being “Image Bearers” of God’s design

• It LIMITS what I expect is possible in and through me.

• It LIMITS how I worship, prayer and experience God.

Limiting Beliefs are often the strongholds that are talked about in scripture…you remember, the ones we are to pull down?

These Strongholds come from..

• Religious teachings, even well intentioned

• Life’s experiences

• Our own thoughts, emotions, preferences, etc.

• Our family of origin

• Words others have spoken over or against us and we have agreed with those words
